tips for replacing passenger side axle

Anyone else had this problem when replacing the passenger side axle axle?
The three bolts at the mounting bracket have slid out just fine, but for the life of me I can't get the axle to slide out. I suspect it's mainly rust build-up on that mounting plate. Any techniques that have worked for you guys?

Bang the hell out of it with a hammer to try to break the corrosion. Or you can unbolt the whole bracket from the engine and try to seperate them on a work bench.

Holy mother of God that was by far the worst thing I've had to do on my Max so far - and I've done exhaust work, 3 days spent on the air conditioner....the power steering belt job was an absolute joy compared to this. I spent six hours chipping at the corrosion with a hammer and screwdriver before it came free.
