SE, limiter or not?

i have a 1997 5-speed SE, and i've heard that it has a limiter and that it doesnt have a limiter. i snipped the wire that disables the limiter, but it only throws one code at me (thought it was supposed to give me 2) and so im thinking it never had one to begin with, but then my boss says he had a 99 Se and he swears the thing would stop accleration cold at 113 exactly everytime. so i just dont know, do i repair that wire and live the unlimited life, or will i be sadly mistaken?

In the stickies -

Only some 4th gen GXEs are limited. If you have an SE or GLE, you have no limiter. The only way to tell if your GXE has one is to hit the road and see how fast you can go. If you have a limiter, your fuel will be cut off and the engine will drop to idle speed at about 115mph.

Why do you want to get rid of the limiter? It doesn't limit how quickly you can accelerate, it only limits the top speed of the car.

Some advice... you're 19, you're dumb now (don't take offense, we were all dumb when we were 19), you're prone to doing dumb things... this thread is proof.

Patch the wire so the limiter functions again so you're a dumb kid below 138mph...there's no need to be a dumb kid above 138mph.

I doubt your car is limited, but my POS is because it is a 5-speed GXE (limited at 180km/h which is slow as hell)
