My take off's SUCK!!

Hey i have an issue thats really bothering me. I have a 1995 Maxima GXE 5 speed. When i race (not all the time) If i take off at between 1500-2000 rpm i don't spin off but a very poor lunch. If i launch of at 2500-3000+ RPM i spin out and loose time. I heard something like take off at 3000RPM and feather it without spins outs. Anyone heard of this. What best works for you. Thanks

You shouldn't need to launch at more than 2300 RPM to get a good launch....not on normal pavement anyway. Really grippy stuff might be a little different but not drastically.

Do not dump the clutch, let it out moderately quickly, but don't dump. Try launching at 2000-2200 RPM's. Make sure you're not spinning before pressing the gas all the way to the floor eh?

i raced tonight here in the philly scene and what i did was that worked best was start at abour 2300-2500 and dont hold the clutch in all the way but dont let it go enough where the car begins to move, once you go at it, let the clutch off but not all the way while feathering the pedal, youll know when to let the clutch go completely and florr it, no spinouts and a good launch too, beat most of the civic si's i saw today and a lot of integras , lost to some turbo hatchbacks but that was after 3rd gear bastards caugh up fast by middle of third and beat me, cant wait to get my turbo

5000rpm clutch slip works best for me..... 5000rpm and let it out slowly , just bites and goes

I launch at 4000-4500rpms. I've maybe launched like this a couple times on the street, but it's my launch rpm at the track. Street or track, it takes off the same. I simply rev up, release the clutch to the point where it's just below engaging, once it's go time I release the clutch a little to get rolling 1-2mph, then feed it gas and feather the clutch. I never dump the clutch and I don't feather it very long at all. My goal is to keep the rpms above 3500rpms off the line. BTW, I've got over 40 passes at the track on my OEM 112K clutch.
