Is there a cheap sunroof fix?

I know there is a sunroof repair kit available. I think it costs about $40 bucks. Is there a cheaper way to fix it?

Basically, for some reason sunroofs "bind" or become very hard to slide. How is this fixed without using some expensive kit?

Also, because of such binding, the cables came "disconnected". How can they be simply reconnected?

Thanx..

Well my sunroof started binding and I kept flucking with it until it broke. I got the kit and that took care of the problem. 40-50 bucks vs. the $350 that the only sunroof guy in the area was not "expensive" so try some lube on the rail assembly. If not bust out $50 and some time. good luck either way.

Did you reinstall your sunroof yourself? Isn't that kinda hard, pulling off the ceiling?
