Ebay cold air intake

Is this ebay cold air intake worth the money. Does it really give you 8-15 hp's. Any help is great. Thanks.

So it is worth the 30 or whatever dollars? Do you have any numbers to tell your gains? And did u go with an aftermarket air filter on yours like K&N, STP, or Fram or did u just leave the air filter that they sent on it.

Yes it is worth it. I have an ebay intake its great! It's just an intake they all do the same thing. Some give low end, some give top end, but at the end of the day they all give about the same amount of power across the board. You just pay for the name!

So would you recommend getting the CAI then getting a K&N filter, or just getting a K&N filter?

Hope you don't mind drilling a 3" diameter hole in your fender. THis ain't an easy job for the amateur DIY person. Have to relocate the battery and stuff. I originally bought a Bomz CAI off eBay. I saw that a I had to drill a hole. I was like.... HELL NO! What if it doesn't work? What if I eventually want to sell my car? I'd have a frickin huge hole drilled into my fender. SCREW THAT. So I used the mid pipe and created a Short Ram Hybrid intake. Didn't notice any gains. (Maybe that's becuz I am using the crap eBay filter). BUT... the sound is awesome!!

I also made mine into a Short Ram intake. And I noticed some good gains from it! My car actually torque steered for once in its life and I'm using the filter that it came with, it's basically a K&N filter.

So that CAI off of ebay doesnt fit stock, thats incredibly . They also have Short Ram Intakes on ebay I think, so would it be worth it to buy one of those?

IT DOES FIT STOCK!!! Sure it takes a little work but so what??? I have a huge battery and it still fits...

If you want to be lazy just throw on a cone...

If you want to work for results get the CAI or hack your airbox.

why not?

yeah I did, you wont even be able to see the hole if you go back stock, look at my pic, you can't even see where the intake goes, the hole will be hidden

i have the injen style as well... if you think about it, PR does sound better... injen style will get hot air from the radiator... where as the PR style (as in picture above) will get cooler air from the fender...

but im not gonna bicker over a couple of horses.

Under $50 bucks shipped you can't go wrong.

Whats wrong with drilling a hole in your fender, take your windshield washer fluid bottle and move it to the side, whats there? A big *** hole in your fender. Using a cheap ebay filter is not going to give you less performance... theoretically it should give you better performance... they flow just as good if not better than a K&N... problem is they have no filtering capabilities whatsoever. Your better off putting a pair of womens stockings over your intake... you'll get plenty of air in there, it just wont be clean.

Im sure this thread is old but I just saw this intake on ebay as well and was wondering about it. What filter did you use to replace the one that comes with it? I will not drill a hole into my fenderwell. Is there anyway around it?

OH GAWD!!!! ANOTHER INTAKE THREAD. For every 10 to 15 threads in this forum, there's one or two intake threads that crop up, its like weeds in the garden. If its worth the money to see 2or 3hp gain, go for it because that is all you'll get from it.

Then it doesn't need to be resurrected because it leads to the same topic/discussion as the other 100+ intake threads with the same content. All you gotta do is search or if u r not a subscribing member, use the poor man's search engine.

Better yet, he can read the stickies. Maybe an Intake Forum needs to be created.
