Speed Limiter Blues
I followed the instructions on eliminating the speed limiter in my 96 gxe where you cut the pink wire w/blue stripe (and yes I paid attention to which side of the connecter the pink wire I was cutting was located) but the car still shuts down the fuel system after 115.I tried several differrant ways to reach that speed. One of course was WOT until it cut out the other way I found the biggest incline on the interstate and gradually ran it up to the cut off point and the RPM's still dropped back to idle. Is there a step I'm missing other than cutting juice to the ECU from battery then sniping the wire then plugging everything back up I even made sure to reset the ECU afterwards just in case ,or do I have a stubborn old max that is too set in it's ways to want to change. Not that I drive over 115 all the time but it sure does suck when my buddy in his brand new 04 GT gets flustered when he can't leave me sitting until over 100 then when the speed limiter kicks in it's almost as if I slammed on the brakes! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated no matter how cruel or wacky.
