Help. Idling low after KS replacement

I replaced my KS with a new one and after resetting the ECU and starting the engine, my idle's at 300. My engine won't turn on unless i give gas or else it just shuts off right after start up. Does anyone know what this problem is? I need help fast. I tried pulling codes and 0505 came up. Maybe throttle body cleaning? Please any suggestions will do. Thanks.

Try Adjusting Your Idle Air Control Valve. Just Get A Big Screw Driver And Look Where Your Throttle Body Is. Its The Big Screw On Top. If You Need More Info On Where It IS, Check The FAQ's On The Top Of The Page. It Tells You Where It Is.

turn up the idle speed located by your throttle. loosen the bolt and turn the screw to the right alittle at a time. have your defrost on while you do this. should probably be at 650 or 700 for a 5 spd. i hate messing with the idle but just take your time nothing hard

I really have no experience with this but the haynes manual says "caution: Do not attempt to adjust the idle speed with the idle stop screw on the throttle body. The idle stop screw is preset at the factory and should not be tampered with." It says that you should adjust the idle adjustment screw and shows a picture of the plastic screw on top of the IAC valve. So, I'd stick with killcrap's instructions.

did you have problems with low idle before KS replacement ? - if no than your problem won't be solved by adjusting the base idle (which should never be adjusted BTW )
look for any loose connectors/vaccum hoses etc. - soemething its not connected and its preventing the engine to run correctly.
Take your time and look things over again

keep us posted

Nick.

I did tamper with the idle adjustment before i posted this thread. I put the old KS back in and it still idles low. I also cleaned the throttle body and still idles low. I don't understand what i did. I just replaced the KS and removed the snorkel. I really don't think that the snorkel makes the car idle low. I drove my car home and it stalls if I brake hard and quickly, causing the RPM to drop fast. If I drop the RPM slowly, then it's fine. But I do feel a significant difference in HP tho. If this is what a y-pipe feels like, I have to get one. Cuz it's incredible. I'll look into the adjusting the air control valve but if that's not it then I'm thinking about taking it to a mechanic cuz i have to fix my AC compressor anyways. Thanks for the advices, keep em comin~!
