Whoa, that doesn't look to bad to be honest, I'd like to see the entire thing with some better picture quality, the product itself looks pretty interesting as well. I have a paint sprayer too!

Do they sell that chrome paint in cans or anything. Could be a much easier and faster alternative to real chrome.

Hello. Yes it is very very brilliant reflective and real. It's insane in the sunlight. Sorry everyone, that is the only pictures available. We started on that 1997 maxima but the vehicle was sold off immediately before we could take anymore snapshots. The chrome paint is sold in all sorts of different sizes. It would take about a half gallon(minimum) to coat a vehicle of that size. The mercedes that some of you have seen before is now a realistic option. If the DOT has any problems then just ask them why a delorean was street legal? I'd suggest adding tint to your clearcoat to make the coating a little more tame.

A gallon runs about $600-$700. But you will only need roughly a half gallon to coat a car. Each ounce covers approx one square foot. It might sound kind of expensive but I don't know of anywhere that sells something even close that handles clearcoat and is somewhat affordable.

Is this what people use to make "hyper-chrome" wheels? If so, you can buy some paint and make alot of money on ebay lol. But seriously, real chrome rims weigh a ton cause of the plating, but this may be a different path in terms of having lightweight chrome wheels. just an idea.

Id like to "chrome" my old school NES system. hehe

Well, if you're going to make a time machine out of a car, might as well do it with some Maxima style (forget that delorean thing!)

My friend would buy a couple gallons and paint the walls of this room like that. Yuck. He loves chrome though i guess..

Can you guys sell this in small quantities? like per ounce? I have a couple unpainted model cars id like to send into bling factor 10.

holla back.

Sorry for posting so much so quickly, but would you be able to mix the paint with different tints and such to creat wicked candy coats? If you could use the chrome paint and then apply some candy midnight blue or candy whatever it would look insane. lates

I've been manufacturing and distributing the chrome for quite some time now. I'm not really sure what the end results are once a customer orders some. I believe the hyper chrome is a similar less brilliant approach. Many of those wheels are coated overseas in China and taiwan using european technology.

Hello. If you mix the dyes right into the chrome then it is seen as a contaminant but the best route to go is by adding pigment to the clear topcoat. It would be a great look.

It is kind of weird.
I would never do that to my car.
In fact, I would never even ride in something like that.
It is different though....I gotta give it that.

Yeah im not planning on doing the entire car or anything like that one, but misc parts like PR cai piping and some other goodies under the hoodies. If I did buy it in bulk and it turned out ok, I might be able to "spray for pay" on parts for people, of course before that I need to fix the sprayer, and clean it out and find a clean enviroment to do it. Its an idea though.

A Delorean is a HORRIBLE example in comparison to a chrome car.

1) Deloreans were made of stainless steel. They had almost no reflectivness at all. If you've ever seen on in person, a regular mild steel painted car today has more reflection.

2) Even if the Delorean was made out of a mirror, laws DO change. They haven't made Deloreans in a long time, about 15 years, and DOT changes laws every single year.

Can you imagine the fingerprints on that car? That would be too much for me... Maybe if you used their gunmetal chrome it would be better. But this to me would be a little tacky...

Just my 2 cents.

how reflective is it?
As I understand it, real chrome= 100%
the 2 sites say different things.
one said 80-90%
and the other said 90-95%

just curious...
80%-95% is a pretty big difference.

You could create some of the wildest effects unavailable with conventional paints. You can control how thick you want the chrome which will give it all sorts of metal looks. A yellow dye added to the clear top coat would create a gold look. a very light amount of black dye would give you a gunmetal or black chrome effect. The possibilities are endless. At night the chrome car was very misterious looking. It had a strange dark chrome look. When the sun came up the effect was insane. I couldn't believe the brightness. Many people do make a living chrome plating parts with the paint. Some have even coated motorcycles which drastically increased the value.

We have been improving the technology as the days go by. We started out with a great chrome that lost some brilliance with clear coat. Then we kept working hard to perfect it and now we have a chrome paint that only loses about 5% of it's shine when you clearcoat it. Things on the sites still need updated but basically we went from 85% to 95% with a clear coat.

Well a Delorean was not chrome after all it was brushed (not polished) stainless steel if I recall. You can see an all aluminum bodied Jag at the autoshows it's completely non painted and has been buffed but still no where near the reflectivity of a chrome body. Man I think that you could blind someone in the right sunlight conditions lol. Certainly would look bling bling.

I'm not suggesting that everyone should chrome paint their car. I'm just showing that this technology does work. It's not trick photography.
