Tinted Tails (pics)

Hey everyone just did a new tail light mod (seeing as i'm 95 and I don't have many other options). I applied 3 coats of nite shades tail light tint to the top half of the tail lights. I think it came out pretty good, let me know what you all think

More pictures on my cardomain site! I am probably going to apply a 4th coat to the reverse light side to even it out alittle. They still light up with 90% light at night and probably about 80% during the day so its not too bad.

They still flash orange but if i put another coat on the orange part it will get hard to see in direct sunlight during the day, i'll do another coat on the reverse light because (when I upload night pictures) it's really bright.

looks really nice, I like it. I will probably try this mod on mine istead of reffing them out. Where did you get the paint, what is like full name for it?

Thanks!

Does reverse still light up bright enough? BTW you still should've redded out the amber cause you can still se it. You should've tinted the whole light but not that dark.

I have my tails totally sprayed black from a body shop and all colors still peep through just fine. Also, I used the nite shades on my clear bumper lenses, corner lenses, and headlights. Looks great with the dark emerald paint. No problems with the cops so far....been about 3 months. HID's still bang right through the tinted headlights. =)

Its a product called Nite Shades and it is made for tinting tail lights. I had to order it offline because no one had the stuff locally. Yea I am probably going to apply another coat. The lights are still quite bright, especially the reverse. I'll upload some pics of them at night later.

Great job, it expecially looks good on the 2nd pic, it flows with the color of your car perfectly.

This is just 3 coats of nite shades, no clear coat. I don't think it really needs any I like the finish it came with.

Here are 4 new pics of them, as you can see they still light up quite well. Sean, yes to the outside of the lens.

If I were you I'd put some clear coat on it ASAP. It's not for shine or finish, it's used to protect your paint from shipping which it will.

Looks good, man.
You did a good job on them. I personally, am glad that you left the amber color under the black. I like yellow blinkers better than I do red ones. IMO.
Keep up the good work.

you guys better appreciate the 4 server errors it took to do this...always copy!

i redded out the outers on my pearl white max and recently tinted the inner on one to test it out. i have a spare set that i'm testing it out on. i only did one because my driver's side tail apparently has two stripped nuts so i can't currently remove it. anyways, here are the pics, i'm not sure how much i like it, and the pictures look different than the tails themselves, as they always do. the jury is still out, but hey, it's different and i tried.

the pictures don't truly capture the color...looks different in person.

Does anyone know a good place to get VHT Nigth Shades online. I saw they are about 12 bucks a cab and shipment is like 8 bucks. Maybe a little cheaper somewhere???
