starting issues

I am having trouble when i start my car. It'll spin over three or four times, and then its like it hangs, or the batt goes dead. i can cut it off, turn it back on, and it may start the next time. there is no click, but more like its dragging. I am going to clean my batt terminals, check my connections, and possibly replace my batt cable ends. Do you guys have any other suggestions? I am worried that it may be the starter trouble that i have seen others have on the .org. It could also be my ignition switch, as it feels a little loose. It really bothers me that i just spent all this money to get my max back, and am now having trouble with something else...

please help me...

Michael

One more thing-if the starter is bad, would it interchange with another vehicle, like a pathfinder or something?

just go ahead and change the starter. Check your battery, might be going bad. But if your going to change the starter, just go with a new or should I say rebuilt starter from the autoparts.

I would have someone check the charging system first....battery, alternator, etc... Go by Autozone or Advance Autoparts and let them check it, they'll do it for free

Well, i checked my batt, and noticed that it seemed to have been leaking. I replaced it because it tested and showed to be bad. I replaced the ends on my batt cables, and checked my plugs...My plugs are very very well used...they have 124-125k on them. the electodes are pointed, but the car seems to be running clean...I had a set ordered, and at 54 bucks, think i got a decent deal...what do you guys think?

oh, and none of this changed the way the car acts when started, it just seems like the car is stuttering instead of trying to start...the hanging is not as bad, but still occurs...

I also have starter problems but only in cold weather. Usually in cold weather my car wont start without my foot on the gas.
