Help Car Wont Start PLEASE HELP

Well at first I had problems starting the car when cold, I was thinking of cleaning the TB a few days ago, so yesterday I tried starting the car and it just wouldnt turn over. I gave it a little gas, and still nothing. I cleaned the TB this morning but, that didnt help either. I have no idea what it could be, could anyone please help. Also from time to time during the summer, it would give as little of a rough start, but nothing compare like in the cold.

More details...year and milage of your car. I would guess you either need to change your battery or more likely your starter...based on the limited info you've provided.

I tried starting it up by adding starting fluid and still nothing, so Im guessing its not that its not getting gas, it must be no spark.

I hooked up the charger to the battery because of so many tries the battery would go down. Tried it like that and still nothing. I checked the oil and I guess the gas went in there, through the injectors. Ill flush the oil and see what happens. Thats what I would do last winter. and it would turn on but then it be the same thing.

Check your upper and lower crankshaft position sensors.

That sounds like what my car was doing and I had to replace the coils for 1200 bucks. The thing was starting to idle rough but at speed it was smooth, well just a thought anyway.

The haynes manual will have pictures and instructions on how to check the sensors .

Please clarify the truble, you said it won't turn over and several have suggested a battery or starter. If it is not turning over (cranking) then like it was said it could be the starter or battery, it doesn't matter whats happening with the injectors or anything else if there is no power turning over the engine, if theres no power to starter theres no spark to plugs thus no firing.

Now if I misunderstood, sorry but check to see if it is either as mentioned

Holy fu{ken crazy $hit!!! Damn you got ripped off. All six coils would cost me like less then $300 from my friend at the dealer, if you would buy at the dealer the most $400-450. Holly crap you got ripped off, man. Sorry but that's insane!!!

And you prolly only had to replace one!!!

my guess: sensor is messed up, therefore your timing is off.

The MAF is easy to check, its the black box right b4 the TB...and that you are checking to see if it is dirty or clogged with anything....you could also check the wiring that's connected to the MAF and make sure it's not broken or anything like that...also do you have stock intake or WAI, CAI?

If you MAF is unplugged or if there is no air coming thru MAF, it will still let your car start up but it will die like in second. I did that before

I'm not big expert with CEL but I think you can check it with engine off. If the crank angle sensor is bad it would throw a CEL code even if you don't see it.

Have you tried another battery yet? You said above that after a few tries, you have to charge the battery. Try another battery or have someone jump start the car to see if this works. When was the last time your battery was changed?

It sounds like a bad battery to me. You might have enough juice left to turn on your lights, but that doesn't mean you have enough power to start the car. Another test is to turn on your head lights and try start the car. If the head lights deems when trying, it's the battery.

I leave the charger on, i dont take it off. Ill try another battery though I do not think thats is the problem, because my lights dont go dim after a few cranks, it goes down after a few minutes of cranking, which I think is normal, if the battery is functioning without the alternator.

I checked if their was spark on the coils, there was no spark on one of them I changed it with another of the coils that were working. And the bad coil did spark in the other, so I checked the good coil and it didnt spark there. What could be wrong??????????

Did you put the good coil back in the previous location and test again?

Up to this point I was going to say to change the oil to a cold temp oil. My Porsche would do the same thing in the cold. Turn over but very slowly and would not start. I changed the oil to 10W-30 and fires up every time in the cold.

Anyway move the good coil back to its previous location and test again. Then if it fires I would look to see what the bad location has.... poor ground or poor signal to coil.

I am not a Maxima expert. I know about 924s and have begun to learn about the Max.

Good luck

Eric

DID YOU CHECK YOUR FUEL PRESSURE, OR I THINK WE HAVE A COLD START SENSOR BOTH GIVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS

If you can smell a gas from exhaust when cranking it’s a good probability fuel lines work properly. Then check for spark. If no gas smell at all, here are 2 possibilities: fuel pump line (fuses, relay, wires, fuel pump itself) or injectors line: wires, fuses. If fuel lines are OK, check for spark. If no spark, then check fuses, crank – cam sensors, condenser. Weak spark = no spark. Always check for blown fuses first. If it seems turn over slowly, most likely the starter is dying (the battery supposes to be good.) This is exactly what happened to my max.; 2 weeks the car’s been dead. Finely, changing the starter solved the problem. Hope this helps, good luck.

Is this the first problem that your car has been giving you? Or has it been giving u multiple problems in the past also? If not then don't sell it. All cars have problems and maybe this is a problem that you should take to a mechanic. Save yourself the stress and just pay someone off to do it for you. well, Good Luck~!

Ok, I wanted to know if its just my car, or any other maxima that does this. I checked to see if there was spark, and in the 1st coil from the bottom pass. side, there is no spark. I changed the coil and checked it with another and it would work where I would check it, but in that 1st one i tried all coild and there is no spark there. THeres fuel going through, what could it? Is this normal I dont think it is, I dont know.
