arrrg! car won't start
The battery is not dead and the starter is cranking over fine. I can smell fuel after cranking it over for a minute, but it won't fire up. I tried to pull the fuel pump fuse cause I thought it might be flooded, but still nothing.
I am not getting any check engine lights, so I don't know what to do. The spark plugs were replaced about 30K miles back. It ran fine last night, so this caught me off gaurd.
Please help, I can't afford to bring it in to Nissan and I am mechanically inclined, so I should be able to do anything suggested.
Thanks,
Ted

I will check it out come monday. I am heading to the mountains for the weekend to do some snowboarding. Luckily my sister let be borrow her car for the weekend. Too bad its a 2L Jetta.
I have the haynes, so I shouldn't have a problem checking out the CPS or CTS.
Thanks,
Ted

The car is running now, but I didn't really do much. I took my friend's advise and gave the CPS and the CTS a little tap with a wrench and it started up. He said he used to do this to the sensors on the helicopters when he was in the Marines.
The only thing is that now the SES (service engine soon) light is on when the car is running.
Any ideas?

Ok, pulled the codes about 5 minutes ago and this is what I got.
0503
0101
0304
These are front right heated O2 sensor, CPS and Knock Sensor respectively. Crap, this sucks. All of these problems are things that I can do myself, but the real question is, what caused these failures? Are these normal wear and tear failures? My car does have 90k miles.
What is the front right heated O2 sensor? I am assuming it is the O2 for the front bank cylinders. I know where the CPS and KS are and how to remove them, but what can I expect to pay for these parts?
Last time I checked the search was disabled, but I will try that after I post this.
Thanks,
Ted

My book says DTC 0101 is caused by the Camshaft Position Sensor (Phase). This sensor is located on the engine front cover facing the camshaft sprocket. It detects the cylinder number signal. The Engine Control Module uses this signal to control spark plug firing order and also to sequence the fuel injectors correctly. If the CPS is bad the ECM will fire the plugs at the wrong time, or not fire them at all. This would account for a no-fire symptom.

Yeah, your right.
It must have been the mention of crankshaft position sensor in the previous post that made me see crankshaft when inf fact I read camshaft.
Well, I am waiting for a reply from Courtecy Nissan to find out the cost of these parts.
I will update when I find out.
