Getting better gas mileage?

What can i do to get better gas mileage? I have a 95 SE auto with 92,000 miles. Replaced spark plugs 2 months ago with oem platinums, better pick up now.Anything else?

Did you do a full tuneup?

Since it's a 95, your car will have carbon and stuff inside your car and you won't get that much good mileage. I get 15-18 MPG since I do many short trips (driving to school with a cold engine) in the city and I'll probably get like 20-22 MPG if I do all highway driving.

People got better mileage when they did a full tuneup, changed the front O2 sensors, and when they got a new aftermarket y-pipe (pre-cats are gone). Nissan says to keep the tire pressure at 29, but if you raise it to like 32-35, you'll get slightly better mileage.

I'll replace the O2 sensors when I get a new y-pipe next year. With the new y-pipe, I'll get in the low to mid 20s MPG doing short trips in the city. I just had my tranny rebuilt and they put in regular ATF, but next year I'll replace it with syn ATF.

Next year (when I have money) I'll run some BG44k fuel system cleaner and I'll buy that Auto-Rx cleaning stuff. I'll probably take out my intake manifold and clean it someday when I have time.

go with all the suggestions above as well as replacing the fuel filter. also check for a dirty/clogged air filter.
