need instructional help for replacing a rear engine mount?

Hey everyone, i'm getting ready to replace the rear engine mount on my 98 I30 and was wondering if anyone has done it before and has some good instructions on how to do it. I dont just want to jump into this thing having never replaced a mount before, anyone have some instructions they could give me from a manual or personal experience? Thanks a lot

So you found yourself a rear motor mount huh? I've done this on my 5spd maxima. The auto is probably difference since they have a difference mount. Basically, you'll need to unbolt the front and the rear mounts from the engine brackets. Then you would need to take out the crossmember. Make sure you support the engine with something on something solid on the engine. To get to the rear motor mount to engine bracket bolt you'll have to take off your driver side wheel and let a long extension to reach the motor mount to engine bracket bolt. It's relatively simple proceedure. Just take your time. Also, you'll probably need a breaker bar and a torque wrench. Make sure you torque all the bolts to 70ft lbs when you go to tighten them.

Good luck.

just the mount to engine bracket bolt so you can take out the whole crossmember. Otherwise you won't be able to gain access to the bolts that hold the rear mount to the crossmember. I wan't able to atleast.

Later.
