Got Keyed

This sucks. I went out last night a local bar and someone keyed my trunk. WTF?!?! I was there for like 1.5 hours and this happens.

i have an idea who it was.. but I am not sure. I was told that a kid i do not get along with was there last night although I did not see him...

time for some touch up paint.

if i take my car to autozone, they can probably tell me exactly what color I need right?

try some rubbing compound, it might take it out as long as it is not a deep scratch

This is not a solution for every car. Rubbing compound will only make it worse on a dark cars! It works wonders on a white car (I used to LOVE detailing white cars ... you can do anything to them and wax it to a shine) but will kill dark paint. Find out what your comprehensive deductable is and if it's only $100 or $250, have the trunk repainted professionally. If you don't have comprehensive or the deductible is too much I would skip the touch up paint and just detail the hell out of it until it's as good as it will get and then save up for the deductable. Touch up paint never looks good IMHO.

the scratch is not that deep. is barely feelable if you run your finger over it, but i think it is just a bit to deep for a buffer. oh well. hopefully i never find out who did this.. I might get prison time. lol

Not sure what the no polish on dark cars thing is about...that's just not true.

Not much you can do about the scratch. Touch up paint probably isn't going to look very good especially on a long scratch like a key would make. You're going to have to get the panels repainted. Touch up is more for little chips and stuff you can sand...it's enver going to work with a long thin scratch. You can try buffing it out to see if it will make it less noticeable, but the bodyshop is a neccesity of you don't want to see the scratch anymore.
