They can be good cars if you how to drive them and maintain them. The 1st gen automatics have the most problems due to it being an auto and most of the owners are average drives. You have to drive them like you stole it. The engines like staying in a high rpm band to operate properly. Now the manuals have the least issues. I would own one, but I love my Maxima!!

26, going through Paramedic training now. Worked hospital security for 5+ years, now working part time in Sterile Processing cleaning surgical instruments.
I'm literally at the hospital 60+ hours a week. Not much time for max tweaking.

I'm 32, Commercial truck driver, Diesel fuel delivery. Did the college thing, formerly a mental health counselor but the $$$ sucked! May go back for a masters degree someday.

Can't believe it has already been two years since I last posted my age and occupation. Time for a update!
I am now 20, and a full time technician!
And my Maxima has gained 20K miles.

37 year-old dad with 2 kids. 15 years out of college and just finished my MBA... my job is a business analyst / IT consultant (former career). Quit consulting because of constant travel. I live close to my office in downtown Philly and walk/ride a bike to work. My wife uses our 16-year old '95 SE mainly for errands, and on weekends, we drive to suburban destinations from the city, as most family members and shopping destinations are outside the city.
This is by far the best forum I have been a member of and I love to learn more about my car. I was a car nut when I was a kid (Motor Trend subscriber as a teen), and then became a city-dweller and have balanced my love of cars with being practical and trying to save money while giving my family a city upbringing that I did not have (after having lived in Tokyo and Washington DC while in college). I try to keep my car running like a champ, thanks mainly to this forum.
