KYB-AGX/H&Rs -- causing bad gas mileage?

Of course! I mean, you just can't but help driving more aggressively with this suspension combo.

Tom, njmaxseltd, put my new suspension in Thursday evening and did a GREAT job! I highly recommend him. He even put a new set of axles in place too. Damned glad I waited long enough for my cv boots to fail--would've really sucked to see them go AFTER doing the suspension.

Well, I was on the verge of going with a G35 and now I'm holding off (wish I'd could have done this 9 years ago). I am SO impressed with the handling characteristics. It's like the car turned into a Japanese BMW! The control improvement it has on curves and uneven surfaces is definitely noticeable. THIS is what Nissan should have done with the SE to begin with. I'm on stock AGX settings, and the ride seems slightly firmer than OEM. Definitely have to play with the adjustable settings to see how it changes from highest to lowest.

I am riding on my OEM 15" rims, with slightly higher profile tires, so that may explain why my ride is not as uncomfortably firm as some others have mentioned in their setups. When my tires near the end of their life, I might go up to just 16".

Anyway, just one more testimony to this suspension upgrade. If you've got the $$, DO IT.
Thanks again, Tom!

Have you installed a FSTB and RSB? For sure you need 16-inch or better yet 17-inch wheels and tires.

Oh yeah, had the FSTB on for about 2.5 years now. I have an Addco RASB in a box, waiting to go on. I just have to zap a little rust on the rear axle first.

Believe me, it's quite impressive with 15"... how much of a diff do you think 1" more would give? I think I've got about another 6 months left on my tires, assuming the suspension will increase wear. May go with the 16" by then, if anything for a better look.

Gary,

Welcome to "the dropped" club. I have the AGX with Maxspeed for close to a year now, and I really like the way it handles in the corners.

16 would be nice, 17's if you like them. Personally I like a stock max with their 16 star rims, dropped.

Armand
ps: Put that Addco RSB and you will definitely notice the rear end will stay even flatter.

Get that anti sway bar on asap. It supposedly helps to get rid of understeer, which we all know is the devil. When I put my 17"s on from the stock 15 inch steelies I notices a big difference, it actually felt like the body roll decreased a lot, thanks to the lower profile tire. I would suggest going with 17"s and not 16"s, if you really want to feel an improvement.

Cool! I have 92K on original parts and I can feel every bump in the road and the body bobs & weaves with every turn of the wheel....

So, I just ordered the following yesterday, can't wait...

KYB-GR2 + top mounts
Progress Springs
Progress RSB
Custommaxima FTSB

I have a GXE w. stock 15" and relatively tall tires. Don't want a stiff ride, but better handling (like my Z).

Thanks -- very happy to be "in". Maxspeed drops even further than H&R's, doesn't it?
I just may go with 17's, but I don't want too busy of a ride. If the 17's with the AGX's set to softest setting gives the same ride I have now, I'd be happy with that. Two inches in rim diameter would definitely fill out nicely. Don't want to totally break the bank either... you're right, the 16" 5 point star rims look nice. Always felt that about the latter 4th gens.

One thing I didn't mention, is that I have motivational rear mounts. That may account for a more forgiving rear end too. Worth $125, IMHO.

ch13f, I agree--I do still feel some slight roll in the rear that the RASB would probably clear up nicely. With 17's, can you get your ride fairly close to stock with the AGX's set to the softest setting?

Don't forget, you're only filling up 1" of wheel well w. 2" increase in diameter of rims.

Another satisfied customer, glad you like your setup Gary. Those 15" wheels make your car ride really nice. I was actually impressed with the way it took bumps. It absorbes them nicely, even with the drop.

Ohh, I can't wait to do a nice little swapout. You've reassured me that that is a good combo to go with, and I think it'd be worth the extra money to have the adjustability of the AGX's vs. the GR2's. First, buy the parts, then save up for the labor. Ugh, it'll be a while, but worth the wait. Then...speedy stuff!!!

My installer is going to charge $350 for all 4 corners. Not the $100 deal some folks are getting in NJ, but better than other quotes I got.

about going with 17 as opposed to 16's: i dont see how thats going to make a diff UNLESS ur talking wider 17's like 17x7.5 as opposed to 16x7 or something like that, i personally would love to run some 16x8's hehe
