Insurance is killing me!!!! HELP

I need to ask all of the 18-20 yrs old male drivers of Maximas, how much do u pay for ur insurance????? I pay $245 a month!!! I'm in the policy as a primary driver (Geico said that if my dad is already the primary driver of one car, he can't be the primary owner of another car, so I got stuck). My car is black also. It has a clean title and I have a clear record. But just because I'm the primary driver of a black car and that I'm 18yrs old, my monthly insurance bill is $245. W/ my salary, I can afford it, but it's a pain in the *ss when most of ur biweekly check goes to ur car insurance. I don't have PiP coverage, but I know I don't have full coverage, it's somewhere in bet'n. Any 18-20 yrs old Maxima driver, what's ur coverage, who's ur insurer, and most importantly, how much do u pay??????

245 X 12 = 2940 and thats not including your down payment?

Shop around, although I'm a lil older (just a lil) full coverage on my 99 runs me around 1350/year.

I have Chubb and in my family, my '97 Max was the most expensive car to insure, more than my mom's new 325i convertible and more than my father's twin turbo audi A6 and we could never understand why. The max is an expensive car to insure, its on the hit list for theives as I found out the hard way a couple of weeks ago, someone stole it and now I'm glad I've been paying extra for the Chubb service. Your age is not helping either, under 25 they stick it to you good.

I'm 19 and my insurance is right now $150 a month with defensive driving and 1 accident. It used to be almost $300 a month when I was 18 and in high school but it dropped a lot once I went to college

Umm.... Geico is retarded then...
Because you CAN be the primary driver of 2 cars, my dad is on the Honda CRV and on the max..

My mom is the Primary driver on the M-B C320 and that's it...

I am the part-time driver on the maxima...

I have a 1000$ deductable (we set it that high to see how much insurance would be...we're lowering it here in a bit)..

I pay 345$ for 6 months of full comprehensive coverage...

98 Nissan Maxima SE 73000miles

oh forgot to mention... I have 1 accident which wasen't my fault so that doesen't affect insurance (federal or state law) and I have 3 moving violations on 2 tickets...

All you can do right now is take defensive driving. It'll knock about 10% off your insurance. If you're a student then DEFINITELY use that. Make sure to have a security alarm, it helps a little on price. And don't speed.

I have full coverage on my Max and also another beater car I have for $100/month. 26/male...it's about to go down since I took defensive driving to get rid of a highway speeding ticket. (clean record soon)

don't forget, insurance heavily depends on what state you're in. for instance, new jersey, new york, arizona insurance are some of the most expensive in the country, whereas the same car/customer in another state could be much cheaper.

I pay $145/month for Full auto, renters and $100K life policy. I go through American National. My dad is an agent with them, so he found me the best deal. It also helps that I have no accidents, tickets, a high credit rating and good student discount.

Man quit b!tchin, Im 24 and pay $339 for my I30. So I dont even want to hear it if you are not paying over $300 for insurance a month. As far as I'm concerned you are getting off easy! I have 2 tickets over 3 years ago and no accidents. So explain that one!

Remember he is own the policy as a part-time driver. I just turned 24 and my insurance is $154/month for 9 months then 3 months off, so it is $1386 a year. I have Erie insurance I was told to get a quote from State Farm though. I just got married and I was told that Erie gives the age 25 discount at age 24. This should make a difference on what I pay. Also, this is for full coverage $500 deductible on a '99 Max

Well i can tell you, that SUCKS. But i think it would be more for me if i was to get a max just for the fact that i'm young ( 19 ) and live in ny. Think about this: My friend has a 1990 Honda Accord, 19, no accidents, no tickets, only has liability and the insurance is 400 and change a month for him. Now factor in the fact of a newer car ( let's say 97 ) his age, where we live, you'll want full coverage living here with a newer car and that's easily close to 6 a month for insurance. That's why i don't want to get a max ( oh i can't freggin wait for my 97 ) until i move down to georgia. I LAUGH at the poster of this thread, your **** is under 3 and your crying ? ! please, be THANKFUL for what your paying and KNOW that it could be MUCH MUCH worse.

I was there for one month. They wanted me to pay them $800/monthly. That was with Farmers Insurance so I decided to call other insurance companies and I got a better deal at progressive so I now pay $375. Maybe you should star shopping around for insurance.

That's a lot of money for 1 month. I have full coverage on my 97. I don't have any accidents or anything, and I pay a little under 600/6 months. about 95/month. Get new insurance. I have my own plan. I am the primary driver of that car. That is ridiculous

You guys should check out www.esurance.com It was the best price insurance I can find. I don't know how they processed their claims yet as I haven't had the chance to do that and hopefully, I never do. But I been with them for about a year and a half and I pay around 120 a month which comes out to 660 for six months for full coverage. This is in California.

Since you're a student(such as myself), try getting all the discounts possible. If you're average is an "A" or a "B", there is a discount. Also I've read that you can get a discount for car alarm, no seatbelt tickets in the past 5 years, defensive driving class, and some other ****(btw. I've looked into most insurance companies after I ran from a cop and got caught, and let me tell you, most liability insurances are higher than the one I got now, which is Prudencial, paying around $2800 for a '96 max gle(under my name), '01 max se, and '97 sunfire convertible).

i pay 1281 every 6 months (not monthly), so thats 213.5 a month. I have Mercury insurance, and i have a speeding ticket, a careless driving ticket and a wreck (totalled the car too). So i think my rate is damn reasonable. Oh, im 17 too...

It does suck though, i have to pay 400 bucks a month just for my car (insurance and car payment), how i have money left for mods after my spending is beyond me...

Price varies by state and now 90% of Insurance companies check credit for determining rates so you can be the best driver in the world and have less than perfect credit they will nail you which should be illegal I asked the allstate agent who giving me a quote why do you check credit for and she said insurance companies check credit now because based on their theory that if you have bad credit you have more stress and more on your mind and tend to be a more agressive driver and are more likely to get into an accident than a person who keeps up their finances and some other bull**** that i cann't remember i couldn't believe my ears so when she asked to run my credit i said no way i'll stick with my current policy which is $174.00 X 7 payments a month for a 1 year policy with full coverage and a $500.00 deductibile.

Wow.

When I was 18 - my insurance was $740 a month for about a year.

Of course, the reckless driving ticket and 4 speeding tickets didn't help that. (no accidents, tho)

It will get better...I now pay $106 a month for super-full coverage. (50,100,50)

No offense, but Rich, that lady is BS! What if you play sports, or just broke up with your girlfriend? What if a family member just died? What if you are just a nervous guy? All of these things will affect the way you drive. What if you don't like your job? Hate your life? Listen to a kick-*** song? Gimme a break, Insurance companies!

I know it's BS checking your credit is just another way for them to rip you off what the hell does your credit have to do with the way you drive your rate should go entirely by your driving record It's to bad though almost all the major insurance companies are using this system now.And when i asked this lady what if a diver has a perfect record no accidents tickets ETC and maybe ran into some hard times Divorce Bankruptcy tax problems whatever i said how do you make a connection between the two?She had no answer all she said was thats there's and all major companies policies and if i have a problem with it i should write my congressman. They are totally ripping people off and it's a damm shame.

I got the good student discount(15%)
Watched a video(5%)
Took Drivers Ed though a real instructor, not my school(3%)

I have a clean record and am insured as the primary driver from Farmers. =/
