95 engine coolant temp sensor

My ECU code indicated that the engine coolant temperature sensor is bad. Is this something that I can replace myself, and where is it located? Thanks in advance.

You should be able to replace this yourself. It's located between the battery and the intake manifold looking down near the block. The sensor points practically straight up (connector up). Removing the sensor breeches the cooling system so let the engine cool and drain off a little coolant first to lower the coolant level below the the sensor.

Does anybody have a picture of where it is and what it looks like? Is it a simple swap?

Thanks,
-Brian.

There are two there, one is for the gauge and one is for the ECU. The one for the ECU is the larger of the two.

MadMax, nice engine bay. What intake kit is that?

Is it a simple removal and reinstall? I reset my ECU to see if the code will trigger the MIL again. Thanks for the picture.

Thanks...
It's a Stillen pop and Frankencar midpipe...

It's pretty simple to remove and install another one.
