How much did you get on your belts?
I had my PS & AC belts replaced last night.
How much wear do most people get on these belts?
I got 65,000 miles and 59 months on the originals, I figure that is pretty good.

4 years and 60,000 miles later and my original belts still look fine. No cracking, no squeaking, no slipping, just nice and quiet.
My buddy's 98 I30 has over 110,000 miles on the original belts, again no cracking, no squeaking, no slippage, just nice and quiet.

Dealer cheanged them.
I thought it was kinda tight down there too.
Dealer said they were crackin', I didn't check or notice.
I usually check them myself when I change the oil, but I have not changed the oil myself in 20,000 miles.

The thing is, the Max sat in a garage during the winters, and was driven about once a week, so that might contribute to the drying/cracking of the belts. I just took it out of "storage" a couple weeks ago.
I was at the dealer for an oil change. The two belts, oil/filter change and labor came to $180, and about an hour of my time.

hmm i got 39K on my car, and one of my belts or pulleys is squeekier than a mo'fo', I think its the Alternator belt, as it does not make more or less noise when I steer so its not that one. How much does it/would it normall cost to have this fixed it only does it when its cold and damp out or raining etc. Other than that its always quiet.

changing belts a *****.
i changed my main belt (alternator, PS) it was cracked on the inside and faded with some wear on the outside. i certainly noticed a better difference in takeoff, and steering became somewhat easier.
i couldn't figure out for the life of me how to replace the a/c belt! i did everything in the haynes manual, but still didn't help, and yes it is tight in there, i'm just lucky i had enough wrenches and extensions and a friend with small hands!
my a/c/ pulley squaks too, only when the a/c,heater is on. probably need to oil the pulley or most likely replace the belt and tighten it, it has cracks on the ribs, i checked.
i got Gates belts, cost me 23.60 at my local parts store.
oh yeah i had 62K on my belts.
