Brake dust shields inside wheels

Brake dust shields inside wheels

Anyone ever use those metal shields that go inside the wheels that are supposed to keep brake dust off your wheels? Any experiences good or bad?

Aside from looking tacky... they restrict the cooling ability of the brakes... Just wash your car more often.

Does this mean the brakes won't work as well all the time, or only when they heat up?

If there are no clearance problems... it should only affect dissipating the heat when you use them (i.e. multiple stops).
