violent shake at 80mph+ ?

Well, I got my new tires today...Sumitomo HTR+ 225/50/16...Like em so far (well i havent been able to test em really)...Anyways, I have a VIOLENT steering wheel shake at around 80mph+, haven't gone much faster than that though....Would be cause of this? My other tires didn't make the wheel shake this much (much less of a shake)....I got the tires, new valve stems, balancing, and alignment done....is this caused by something else? snow in the tires, breaking in of the tires? Should I take it back if it doesn't clear up in the next week?

Wheels aren't balanced properly. Take it back to the shop. They should re-balance them for free. If not, take it up with a Sr. Manager. Make sure you hold on to your receipts and work ticket, they will want to see it.

What he said

Looks like snow knocked off one of my wheel weights causing the
same problems you're now experiencing...shop said they'd fix it
for free (mind you, I couldn't drive because it's 15-20 minutes
by highway and my vibrations started at 45mph).

hope it works out for ya!

Violent?

If this is not an overstatement you should check your wheel nuts. The shop might have let them loose.
