Factory b-pipe life - how long?

How many miles has your car gone before the factory B-pipe rusted out? It is plain steel, not stainless, right?

I had 143k when I pulled mine off to replace the whole exhaust. The B pipe was still in good condition.

Nope. The ENTIRE stock exhaust system on all 4th gen-up Maximas is stainless steel. Technically, the rear muffler only has a stainless shell and is mild steel underneath (will rust). The b-pipe is all stainless, though. I have zero signs of rust after 5.5 years and 130K miles.

can anyone verify the exhaust being stainless because i can't see it.

my whole exhaust b-pipe to rear section/muffler is rusted. not rusted through but the outter piping looks like the titanic.

mostly only high end cars or limited production cars come with ss piping.

Not sure what it's made from, but I have a rust spot on my muffler that is about 2" in diameter, and appears that it will penetrate within a year or so. My car is a 98' and has been in the salt belt of Toronto for it's entire life, with about 100,000km on the odo.

I had 82k Miles when I had my Budget Y and B pipe installed.

The Y-pipe literally fell apart, ditto for the resonator, muffler had holes in it and the pipe was toast.

This is in a very salt infested country. (Canada)

What year is your car and/or how many miles?

My resonator is starting to come apart, but that's because I have huge a$$ speed bumps I go over every day (plus my car is lowered). The wearing is from scraping and not rusting out.

I've got 89K miles, but my friend has a 95 with 140K and he just passed inspection with his stock exhaust.
