Personally, I don't think we'd need a twin turbo, but to take full use, wouldn't we need a better tranny? That's a lot of boost.
another question i didn't think of....

"does this system come with a full exhaust?"

i will definitely bring this up and i was NOT aware that other turbo's actually came with the rest of the exhaust...this may reflect the price...i'll definitely bring this up. Thanks for your question, i would have never thought of that....

How big is the intercooler?

Is there any bumper fabrication needed?

Do the turbo's clear the stock hood?

Internal or External Wastegate?

BOV included?

There's a few for ya

Haha, you and I both know those numbers don't really mean that much, maybe I should use faces? Anyway, no, I don't look at their face, I just concentrate on how much the car lurches when I shift. As the lurching lessens, I just bump the percentage. Once it's 100%, then I consider under practically any circumstance, I can provide a smooth shift for passengers.

A MINOR UPDATE

this can be good news and bad news but i received this from a very VALUABLE source...

this twin turbo is NOT located in New Jersey. It is shipped from Japan to New Jersey so IT IS VERY POSSIBLE IF NOT COMPLETELY POSSIBLE that it has been tested, and works. In fact I believe it does if he's ready to sell it...

this should answer some of the questions about fitment, etc....

more updates to come

the bad news is taht it might not be something u can just pay for today and pick up tomorrow....

MAJOR UPDATE

ok guys, i got some new info BEFORE presenting my questions...

here it is:

HP is 300 HP at 12 PSI with stock exhaust (2.25, NOT 3")

so with an upgraded exhaust, you should be looking at 330 to 350 hp (hopefully)

the new engine can handle 20 PSI with no problems and with a few extra mods can handle 30 PSI

This package also comes with an ECU upgrade (not sure what year yet)

install time is: 5-10 days
30 warranty on motor, lifetime on installation

takes about 2 weeks to get motor from japan to United States

Additional costs will be:
Motor mounts
Linkage
Axles

Also, this kit does not come with an intercooler...YET
nor does it come with the exhaust system

But for an extra 350, you can get intercooler
and for full exhaust, he can get a 3" mandrel bent aluminum exhaust (with test pipe) for 300 dollars.

i was searching on turbomaxima.com and saw how Nigel's max was doing 370 fwhp at 11 psi which looks like it would blow away this turbo if my source meant fwhp and not crank....i'll find out on that too...but this is all i know right now, more to come

mecca are you sure these guys arent talking about vg motors.

twin turbo? new engines? already tested? from japan? sounds like remanufactured z motors.

Wait, are there any VQ30DET or modified for TT engines in the Japanese line-up? Seems like this thing might be forced into the engine bay.

If i won the lotto (at least $15k) then i'd guniea pig...

Mecca, Nigel's 370+fwhp is the total at 11-12psi. It's like 190-210 additional horses to stock. Your 300hp @ 12psi sounds reasonable for the fact that i think the y-pipe, intercooler and other goodies help it out a lil. the VI might have some to do with it.

But like i've said before: TT on a Max is not practical, just candy for the hot girlies

lol...TT for BEECHES...haha, i feel u on that...

hey, the TT was tested on a 100% stock max, meaning full stock exhaust, all it had was the turbo and i guess intercooler? although he didn't mention it much...i have reason to believe it was tested without an intercooler as well, UNLESS you NEED an intercooler for it to run...

JUST IN CASE these engines R remanufactured, is that a bad thing? first off, would it be possible to even put a 300zx engine into a maxima?

Intercooler helps...

So it's been tested on a Japanese Maxima...or Cefiro perhaps? Could they have borrowed one of them Samsung cars from Korea to do this?

And i think i'm one of the few people that has successfully partnered a 300zx engine to a 4th gen.

did i mention it was on a trailer hitch though?

this is different though. It exists already, now we're trying to see if its worth the money. I'm not sure how the guniea pig thing is going to go now because if its already been tested in Japan then why would it need to be tested here? aren't japanese maxima's the same as the ones here?

Well, they don't even have maximas in Japan. Well there is the Cefiro.

And if they're telling you that they've already tested this kit in Japan, then I know they're full of BS. Because no Japanese tuning company is going to sell a turbo kit for less than what the current shops are. have you priced performance parts from Japan?

Is it a reputable company we are talking about here? Maybe if you throw us a name... There aren't many good tuner shops in the North East area that actually work on Nissan.

you DON'T know what it looks like, you DON'T know if it's already been tested. I'm not calling you a liar, i'm saying you have no proof of all of this. you havent asked them if its a vg, all you have is what has been told to you (which is next to nothing) and you could have misunderstood. I hate to be a **** but you acting like this is gospel when in actuality you have no idea what is going on. NOT ONE solid answer have you given and NOT ONE specification have you given besides its a twin turbo engine for the maxima. im tellin you as nice as possible stop posting, your just makin it worse everytime.

IF someone is going to spend the money to have this done, i dont think that they are worried about emissions. Look at SR swaps, alot of those dont even pass emissions. But i am sure Mr. Benjamin Franklin could change anyones mind as to whether or not the car passes emissions.

This thread is bullsh*t....

...the last time I heard someone mention twin turboin'g a Max, they had the hater pole shoved where the sun don't shine...

...and I already claimed the throne to having a twin turbo Maxima, or at least, stateside. I know of the Cefiro with the twin turbo engine Japan and Aus side.

Damn, you guys don't even read my posts, do you?
