question about tires

I just got the 17" 2002 Altima rims for my 96 max and i want to know what every body thinks about tire brands.
Which brand are u favorite tires?
And what do the numbers stand for on tires. For EX: 234/45/17
I know the 17 is the rim size but what do the other 2 stand for?

I would search becaus ehtere is a ton of info on this. 235: is the width, and 45 is the height.
