Tranny is going, but mechanic couldn't make it slip
This crap always happens to me...
A couple weeks ago I got on it and none of the power got to the transmission(auto). Happens in all gears...Depress the throttle more
than half way and the transmission would slip.
So I made an appointment to get it check out.
Expecting a total rebuilt estamate the guy tells me they couldn't
get it to slip. WTF......I know when I take it home today the f er
is gonna slip all over the place.
Side note, the guy says to me, not to drive it hard, actually he advised me not to downshift by depressing the throttle 100%, cuz the maxima wasn't made for it..What!
Then I ask if a aftermarket valvebody would help.. and he says no.
Is this guy on crack????

you should go to a shop which fixes nissans on a regular basis, or ask them if they have experience in fixing nissans, otherwise you'll get this stuff from everyone. u know, even my mechanic, which I think is one of the best mechanics doesn't know a lot of the stuff on the maxima as I do, he knows alot, but little stuff that's specialized only on a maxima and not any other car he doesn't
so it's not that the mechanic you brought your car is bad, he might just not know about this kind of stuff
