Ptatohed, Others that know how to remove ebrake boot...

Sorry I just picked on Ptatohed because I know he swapped his out for his mommy's homemade one.

Do you guys know how to remove and replace the ebrake boot? I have already taken the shifter panel off, but I don't know if I need to remove the whole center console of not. Do I? And can somebody tell me how?
Thanks,
-Cyrus

The E-brake boot is held in by a semi-rectangular frame. Pull up on the boot along the long side that is closer to the passenger seat and you should be able to get a finger or screw driver in. Then just pry it up. When you pry up, you'll see the out line of the metal frame under the boot. Be sure not to pull too hard, or you'll bend frame.

Hope this helps; sorry I could not explain it better.

I understand what you're saying, but if I take it out that way I wouldn't be able to put it back would I?
Thanks,

Mine goes in and out pretty easily... maybe something's wrong with it but it looks fine. Just squeeze and remove/replace

I got mine back in pretty easily. This is the thing; the metal frame sits on a rim of plastic that runs a little bit under the edges of the rectangular hole in the center piece. Just have to make sure the frame is appropriately sitting on the rim. Like I said, make sure the frame is not bent, or it might be difficult.

i just removed mine to replace it with a red one to math my new leather..

i took the whole console out.. and worked on it in the house..(it was hot outside)

i actually had to cut away the OEM boot so i could reuse the wire loop.

i found it was easier to remove the OEM boot from the underside of the console.
