is it dangerous to drive with a broken strut mount
Hi -
My 95 maxima has the strut mount problem that many of you are familiar with (I have done quite a bit of reading on this site). I have learned that my right hand side strut mount bearing just needs lubrication because it make a noise when I turn the wheel and that it was replaced recently. On the other hand, the left hand side makes a noise on bumps. When I look at the mount the center of it moves when I press on the hood to move it up and down.
Am I (or others for that matter) in danger if I continue driving the car like it is until I am able to leave the car for a day to be repaired?
thx,
M. Yamin

Take a 17mm deep socket and just try to tighten that bolt a bit. If your lucky you'll grab onto the mount again. If the mount is worn, have it replaced. It's not going to put you in great danger, but will make some noise as it moves around slightly.
