Transmission go BOOM (input shaft bearing most likely). Will more than likely keep the car so Looking for 5-speed manual to get at some point. Anyone have anything? Trying to get a feel on prices.

i have one in my back yard it has been sitting for a year now my throw out bearing seized and i swapped for a mew one it came off a 99 se ill sell it for $550 + shipping unless u can pickup in LA

Thanks for the responses. There seems to quite a range of prices. More research needed as well as investigating the use of a fifth gen tranny. IIRC, they're basically the same tranny, right?

Yep. I put an 01 5spd trans in my 96. Supposedly they are built better than 4th gen trans. It did cost me 1000 and we swapped it in my garage
