PR!! 6-Disc indash cd player/MP3 radio for BOSE cars
OK Guys, first & foremost, I've decided to not only lower the price slightly, but I'm also changing the warranty deal. Instead of asking an additional $100 for a warranty, I've decided to include a 1 year warranty standard!! Also, I've tested and of course the MP3 catagory/folder function does work just as I expected.
Includes fully tested HU, simple 5-minute install directions, a 3m quick-splice, Orange gauge cluster bulbs (takes about 15 minutes to install) , and of course the uber nasty custom flush mount brackets.
$250 Shipped
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OR
$150 Shipped If you want one of these head units with NO warranty, and without the pre-attached flush mount brackets, I'd be more than happy to sell you one for that.

PROS:
Includes a 1-year warranty against ANY head unit failure ranging from illumination/power-up problems, to cd error & even jammed cd's will be mailed back to you along with a replacement deck!!!
Better sound than any 4thgen BOSE HU
Made by panasonic instead of clarion, so they aren't junk...... ie no illumination or cd or power problems etc
6-disc indash changer, plays burnt cd's and plays mp3's as well.
18 pre-set stations! (And they can ALL be FM if you want, or a combination of AM/FM on the same A-B-C list)
Bass/Mid/Treble adjustment
Says name of songs/artist
Ipod & XM adaptors available from nissan
Clean factory look, as well as being very quality, the volume and radio knobs work ill, hard to explain but it not only looks much nicer but everything about it feels much nicer as well.
CONS:
The Illumination is orange and can not be changed.
The volume knob is a little different in both a good and bad way. You can turn it up slightly higher than a 4th gen bose (this isn't the only reason they sound better though). But than you can turn it up until the point where it begins to sound crappy I underlined that because that is the only thing that it will do, it won't blow your speakers, just sounds crappy and distorted if you turn it up all the way. Eithere way myself and the other .org members who have this in there cars don't mind this at all.[/color]

TTT, for $250 you get a direct install 6-disc mp3 HU w/1-year warranty. Why isn't anyone jumping on this, they sound INCREDIBLE, no lie it really does vibrate your hairs w/stock bose speakers

Wow...came all the way down from $400.
$250 is a good price for this HU if you want an OEM style upgrade.

What if I don't have Bose? Any way I can use this HU? What if I got a 4 channel amp and my own speakers? Could I use this? Also, my 96' has a single DIN cassette player. Would this still fit?
TIA

Unfortunatly I have no idea if it will work in a non-bose car, my educated geuss is 'no way in hell'
As for the single din issue, that's easy, a different trim peice and you would be good to go

SWEET!!!! I'm not the only one who still has tapes I'll have to get back to you on that. If worse comes to worse and I can't get any I could always have you buy one on E-bay, ship it to me (or possibly have it shipped directly to me), and I could do the whole test-fit/dissasembly/welding/etc for $65 including return shipping.

On a lighter note, if you want one of these head units for $150 without the custom brackets & warranty? I'd be more than happy to sell you one for that. Paypal is Kevgoods@hotmail.com

How does it look mounted without the "custom" bracket?

It doesn't, the screw holes don't line up.
There are three options.
1: Test fit, mark, & drill 8 holes in the brackets (4 on each side). This method works good but it will stick out a little.
2: Test fit, mark, grind down the 8 "resesced portions", & drill 4 holes in the brackets (2 on each side). I was very leary of doing this, the only benefit is that it will fit flush, but the radio is pretty heavy and imho needs to be mounted solidly so it won't tilt upwards or bounce around.
3. Test fit, mark, grind down the 8 "resesced portions", completely dissassemle the entire radio, align than clamp the two outer cases to the brackets, grind yourself some bare metal and mig weld the crap out of them, than re-assemble the radio with the brackets already attached to the two outer sides.

VIA the cd player, basically it plays mp3 cd's as well as regular/burnt cd's. You can fit about 6 full length albums on one mp3 cd, and you can put them into named folders.
