If you need pictures, look through the Picture sticky at the top of this forum and in the Members' Ride forum.
As for ride quality, a 3 lb difference in rim weight (assuming you keep the same rim size) won't matter that much; your tire size and suspension set-up are bigger determining factors.
You could just get different tires, ie. softer sidewalls, on your TE rims to see if that changes things.
