Wassup ... I recently bought a used 1000bd rockford fosgate amp and tried to run it on a 1 ohm load(2 HX2 punch 12" subs). i last about a week before it started clipping. im running it on 4 ohms 500w rms but i wanna play 1000w rms again.




i found an amp the was affordable, Directed 2400D, that does 1200w rms at 1 ohm load. is this amp good? what? let me know.

Damn they are really messing up the #'s now. The 2400Dused to be the D, which used to be the 1200D...which was the 1100D

They are decent amps, nothing special. They will do rated power, just make sure you get a fan on them. My 1500D didnt like heat too much, it never cut off while playing, but after a short drive & shutting the car off for a few min & back in to take off it didnt go on numerous times. No doubt due to the heat, then again I am in Phx so you might just be alright up there.

Now if this is the older model 2400D, then its a bit different. That will put out 1200 @ 4ohms and about 2400 @ 1ohm. The only reason im thinking its the previous gen directed amps is because there is no current gen directed amps that im aware of. So im personally leaning toward the previous gen which will pull a lot more power then your thinking.

Interesting, I guess there is another gen of directed amps. I could hace sworn they stopped making amps

That amp above, minus the looks is the exact same amp as the previous 1500D, same as the 1200D & the 1100D. The only difference is the looks as far as I know. You should be fine, they are decent amps.

Btw your subs, they are dual 4ohm voice coils right?
