Why do you want to lift it? Just curious.

There are no springs in the known universe from a different application that fit right into the 3rd gen - let alone any that will lift it. So, you're stuck going the custom route (did you try Detroit Spring?) or doing crude and likely ill-advised route of spring spacers and the like. Even at that, you're probably only going to be able to get an inch or two max out of it.

Funny you say there are no springs that will fit. I put my old front 4th gen springs on my cousin's 3rd gen. They are Intrax that I cut a coil or two off. Same diameter, they fit the 3rd gen strut fine.

So that makes me think swapping the front struts and springs from a 4th gen would lift a 3rd gen a lot. The 4th gen has a longer strut. The lower 2 holes are bigger than a 3rd gen so a metal bushing should be used.

One could try selecting a different Koni insert. You'd have to do some measuring to get the right length. 4th and 5th gen are considerably longer. With a gutted strut housing you could reweld the spring perch to the desired height to achieve lift.

My cousin *thinks* the rear springs off a newer Nissan could fit too. Like say off a 02-06 Altima 04-08 Maxima or G/Z. I can't say as I did not measure any of that nor did he actually try.

I should have stated there are no springs that "bolt in". There are certainly HUNDREDS of springs that have the same diameter and will fit with varying degrees of cutting coils and whatnot.

If you were going to cut coils though, why bother even putting Intrax from a 4th gen in vs. just cutting the stock coils?

Yeahhhhhhh , I have 4th gen springs sitting in my shop. And why lift? because I do what I want. Mad horse power. With the stage 2 cams. Forget get tune.Lmao. ride dirty. see how it goes. Brizzop just had a strut rot out and blow. So we'll take pictures. I don't mind cutting one as long as the diameter is good. As for height. I could always try a new spring from the store and return it

You know, I was being ricey. They were on my 4th gen and I wanted to go lower. After I smartened up, went back to a different spring, my cousin just had to have them. So basically being dumb.

B&G might still make lowering springs for direct fit on 3rd gens 2" drop but nothing stock out there anymore. I sold a complete set of springs and a complete set of tokico's new in the box a couple years back. A needle in a haystack. Found and flipped.
