The headers have a M18 o2 bung, I believe the senor on the 3rd gen Maxima is M14. Unfortunately I do not recall the thread pitch of either size, but you will need an adapter or have a new bung welded in.

An adaptor or new bung welded in like previously stated does sound like your only option but being these are made for the 3rd Gen you would figure they'd make it the right size. Outside of that issue how were they to install? Did they fit well? and did you put them on the VG or the VE? Reason I ask is I thought about a set myself.

Another sign of OBX copying crap (Pacesetter VG30 Maxima Headers) and not quite getting it right! If you can't get an O2 bung adapter just buy a M14 (14mm x 1.5) bung and a M18 (18mm x 1.5)...use the M18 plug for yours and drill and weld on the correct size O2 bung as req'd...good luck finding the M14 size they're out there but not the standard size....You sure it's not a M12?

Problem solved I just got an adaptor from pepboys but thanks for the help...as far as the headers they were quite easy to install I had broken studs but I got them all out only problem I had wuz the 02 sensor bung being twice size of my o2 sensor and rear header flange wuz tapping in to the rack so i had to grind them down a bit and I moved the rack up a tiny bit but I can say that I love them they look nice sound nice but make sure you use exhaust wrap its gets real hot .but I give them a 10/10 for sound nd 7/10 for installing

That means the sensor was a M12 (12mm x1.5) and the bung was a M18 (18mm x 1.5)...I saw plenty of M18 to M12 adapters online but no M18 to M14 whuich I was looking for!!! Wrong size my bad! Anyway slap OBX's mama and make her do it right next time!

I realize i am bumping and old thread but i now have the same issue as cutommaxi92 had on my 92 vg but being in Canada i cant seem to find an adaptor/reducer to go from m18 to m12 but have noticed that the 4th gens have an m18 o2 sensor with the same connector and all so i was thinking of giving it a shot. The only difference apparently from what i gathered from the parts store is the sensing element. Strange thing is 85-88 have the same sensing element as the 4th gens but the 3rd gen seems to be different but im wondering if that sensing element is going to make it or break it and if it's worth a try. Being i was going to change my o2 anyway it might just as well save me from getting both a reducer and sensor where i could just use a 4th gen o2 and call it a day. Any thoughts?

Looks like the 2nd and 4th gens use zirconia sensing elements where the 3rd gens use titania sensing elements if im not mistaken the titania would be the better sensing element though?

Well being i cant seem to find an adaptor i am just having a 12mm bung welded on. Also after talking to a rep at ngk about the sensor he said that i should stick with the stock titania sensor and that going to a zirconia sensor wouldnt be recomended. So it looks like i have the solution to the issue taken care of.

Is the M12 and M18 different sized from the US ones?

I don't remember what the exact sizes are, but US cars have "large" and "small" 02 sensors. The 3rd gen has the "small" one. I very easily found screw-in bung adapters on eBay that I have used on my turbo project

I would imagine they are the same as long as they're metric. I couldnt find an adapter anywhere where i am. I was actually pondering ordering one from ebay but it would have took over a week to arrive and could only get them in pairs at about $30 cdn with shipping and its on my friends hoist so i didnt want to have his hoist tied up too long as thats his livelyhood but he was able to grind a 12mm nut to fit perfect to weld in so it worked out well. After researching our 3rd gen o2's are titania which are a quicker acting sensor than the zirconia. I could have got the zirconia in a m18 but after speaking to a rep at ngk he said it would definately be recomended to stick with the titania stock sensor. Anyway everything worked out well. Now just have to grind the rear flange a little for clearance so its not hitting the rack and everything will be good.

If your just wanting the y pipe your probably best to just stick with warpspeed which make 3rd gen specific y pipes that dont need mods. If your wanting headers too well chances are you'd be looking at some slight mods with the obx. I don't think the 4th gen flanges or pipe would match up and probably not worth modding for what its worth modding a 4th gen pipe you could probably just have an exhaust shop do a custom pipe. I had a custom job done that i'd sell but probably keeping incase i ever needed or decided to put the stock manifolds back on. Long story short just check warpspeed's site if your just after a y pipe.
