Engine Swapping and other shenanigans ?

LS1 swap for 3rd gen maxima? SE model

http://paceperformance.com/files/content/lq4-truck.gif

-this is what my car sounds like now, it sounded better accelerating haha.

Still, the flowmaster 40 series was made for v8s and I want a corvette engine. however, i searched briefly , and could not find a maxima ls1 swap?

Any engine swaps possible for the 3rd gen?

Would an LS1 powered FWD car ever get traction before the tires explode?

yea i guess you are right, an ls1 would be better for a fairlady.

But what swaps are known for the third gen? v8 swaps?

open the hood....does it look like a transversely mounted V8 would fit in there?

there's barely anyone that's willing to turbo charge the stock motor...what makes you think you'll have someone that's willing to do a swap into a V8 and have it remotely driveable at a DD?

we can't even get coil overs!!!

LS1 swaps are completely in any Japanese cars, i thought the whole LS1 fad went away in the last while

theres been 50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 threads on this, theres no easy engine swaps for 3rd gens. anything is possible with time and money, but the only thing close is a VQ35 swap and even thats miserable to do. RWD vehicles are the easiest if you want to toy around with engine swaps, if you want a V8 get a S13 and swap in a VH45. or just get a Infiniti Q45

Just like throwing a 2JZ and RB26 in everything is

In almost every platform the motor that makes the most sense to swap, LS1. Cheap, light, reliable, and can make power. In fact here is what i dare you to do. Drive your car to an RX7 meet park your car next to an LS swapped RX7 and tell the owner of that RX7 that his car is gay. Make sure he sees what you drive then tell him about how gay his swap is. Lets see how well that goes for you.

Ok,ok,ok. No swaps for me. It was just a fantasy haha.

But what more can I do to my car.
K&n air filter,
Manga flow cat,
Flow master exhaust,
Engine is extremely clean, all fluids flushed and replaced.
I am probably making 200-210 bhp and lower whp.

I am thinking about getting a second muffler and having four exhaust tips.

But is there a way to make the maxima a true dual?

Or should I just enjoy my cAr for what it is ?

200-210? get on a dyno...then make claim of power.

what does true dual exhaust actually gain you?
sell your car...get a rwd V8.

this will get you.....
true duals exhaust and option of V8 swaps all over the place.

The craziest swap I saw was the GTO engine inside an S2000 in Modified Magazine.
If you are willing to do it for bragging rights, or to learn what can or can't be done then do it.

Aside from the exterior condition of this RX8 i think this is perfect. It fixed the car's main issue:

A mid rear engine north star. wow , how the hell did he fit it back there, and did he just leave the front as a trunk?

The third gen is very limited to what i can do it seems.

i do apologize for my cliche posts, you fellas must get a lotta people like me asking the same questions over and over again.

I could careless about a 2JZ swapped camaro or the 4G63 mustang. But you do realize how much money those swaps cost? the amount of custom fabrications that was done to get those motors to work in those cars is pretty insane. LS swapped cars are done because people know its gonna work at the end of the day and its a platform everybody can build on.

But as far as you getting on people that have LS swapped cars...yea LOL. I don't think so. This was at a meet i recently went too:

I really don't like that that almost the entire motor is mounted in front of the shock towers. I wonder what the weight dist is on that thing. LS powered FD3 and RX8s just make sense

Its a drift car the last thing they are worried about is optimizing traction.

the only option that would come the closest to making sense is the LS4 from the front wheel drive cars (newer Impala, Monte Carlo, Grand Prix)
