Anyone ever use por 15 when doing their bodywork?
Anyone ever use por 15 when doing body work? Just looking to hear some feedback or thoughts on the product. Im having my wheel wells done with new metal welded in and having por 15 used after the patch work then spraying the wheel wells over with truck bed liner seeing our 3rd gens have the plastic sheilding in the front wheel wells but not the rears i notice the metal in the rear wheel wells takes it's toll after all these years. After this is complete the wheel wells should be solid and rust free like the rest of the car for many more years to come i hope. Especially since it's no longer winter driven.

depends what you use it for...
if it's totally rusted then it's not going to save it.
if it's surface rust then you can rescue it with por15.
have to make sure you prep it correctly.
also por15 is not UV stable so if it's a lighter color and it's in the sun it will turn color.

You should not have to use POR-15 and truck bedliner. It is either one or the other. POR-15 is very hyrdophobic, so I'm not sure bedliner will stick. Restoring muscle cars, I always prefer POR-15 over bedliner. Couple things to remember: make sure to wear gloves, otherwise your hands will be stained for weeks; remove the liquid from the can with a turkey baster or large syringe and place into a different container for application, this will avoid basically welding the cover back on to the can if some of the liquid remains on the lip; also quickly reseal the can after removing product to avoid exposure to atmospheric conditions.
