So out of curiosity has anyone ever used BG Suspension S2 Springs for our maximas? Im looking to lower just about what this kit does but I dont want to sacrifice to much ride quality.

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...prings/S2/6590

I know we as a group don't like lowered maximas to much but I would love the look. Any help?

it's not that we don't like them, it's that the car's design (insufficient suspension travel) and the lack of aftermarket shock options (none at all) makes doing so less of a good idea than it is on some other FWD sedans. Despite the logos on the windows it's NOT a sports car, and was not designed with mod-ability in mind.

Having had INTRAX when they were around(1.8" drop)' the BG is the middle ground compromise, not too low at all.

i had Ksport GT 2.2 inch front drop and 2 inch rear drop on mine, rode rough, scraped everywhere and the oilpan was like inches off the ground but if its your thing go for it, to me it was worth it. not a car thats designed to be lowered much though

yea that's why I want to skip the Ksport and go for a 1.6" drop. I don't want to loose to much capability. And I don't want to have to sidestep speed bumps.

I had some B&G springs on my Supra. The ride height was like a 1.5" drop. They were a good buy.

yeahbut.... supra = actual sports car. And even with an Addo RSB, FSTB, poly stuff, bigger/wider wheels and wider tires, Eibach springs and Tokicos, my Maxima is still outhandled by my bone-stock E39 and nowhere near as comfortable. The ride on the maxima is not murderous.... but the ride-vs-handling compromise is MUCH more pronounced than it is on the E39. If I made the E39 ride stiffer to be just like the maxima, then I can only imagine the thrills I'd be able to get out of its handling...

I just sold a set of B&G lowering springs that I had originally planned on swapping in to replace my Eibach lowering springs. The drop is about the same(1"), I copped the B&G's because there red but some time later I changed my mind. I also have an Eibach camber kit but I could have gotten away without the Eibach camber kit. It does handle a little bit better than stock but I have done quite a bit of suspension/steering work(LCA"s/strut mounts/inner-outer tie rods/rear links/F-R sway bar bracket poly bushings/sonar struts/FSTB/rear sway bar bushings/Eibach camber kit/ball joints/F-R end alignments). I noticed a big difference when I upgraded my wheels to 16x8" rims w/225-50R16 Toyo Proxes...it's a nice smooth ride that feels tighter to the road and takes bumps nicely but I have sonar struts. My electronic struts take bumps nicely in comfort mode and handles bends tighter in sport mode...yeah it's a noticeable difference between the 2 modes.

S60R's are like that too, the multi-mode suspension is hugely noticeable. Never driven one which had lowering springs, only a stock one.

You are awesome. Thank you for taking pictures looks like it wont be to low. Let me know how it rides when its all finished. Also did you use spring compressors when installing or just undue the bolt and lift the car up? Also it looks great!

Yes used spring compressors when removing and installing new springs onto struts/shocks. Took me a little under hour to do the front. I went with kyb stuts since thats all you can basically get these days. So will see how it rides. I may or may not be able drive this weekend. Depends if my bolts for my iacv come in.

In for updates on this... My 'new' 92 looks like a 4x4, but the last 3rd gen I lowered ended up too low. So far the car in the pics looks like the factory should have done it... Which is what I was looking for.
