Rebuild is officially started
I just picked up my block and crank from the machine shop. The cylinders were .002" from ring wear. Could have left it alone but had them hone it anyway. Crank was polished and everything cleaned.
This is going to be a slow rebuild, my neighbor wants to learn how and with anything $$$ dictates the pace. So everything will be worked month by month. Sept I'm going to clean the rust and paint, Oct order the master rebuild kit and being the work of reassembling. November hopefully take the heads down to be checked out and cleaned.
I have one side project for my X-runner that I need to pay off, hence waiting on the kit. But I figured I should have enough money left over to get a couple of more wire wheels and paint.
And what spurred this on? Well my truck only holds four and I have 2 kids. But there's no way to put a baby seat which will be needed come Feb.

mine has been torn down for about 4 years now as well. LOL Wife was getting a little pissed. Luckily I bought a bunch of stuff years ago, like the Koni/Eibach setup. I've also decided to drop my SP rotors and put my Brembo slots back on.
