92 maxima with dohc engine problem
I have a 92 maxima with I believe a ve30de first off I'm not losing any money I only paid 150 bucks for it
I know the Guy I bought it from it use to drive great.
anyway 2 of the 3 (left and middle) spark plugs are crushed.
What should I do buy another running engine or try and salvage mine?
any advice is appreciated

The only other thing that would be possible is if the engine it self ingested something as a screw or whatever, but I can't image a small piece of foreign material truly "crushing" a plug.

Also possible that "knock" was the piston announcing its arrival at the head due to a big-end bearing failure I guess .....................
Could be over-revving and a piston disintegrating...........
I say remove heads and drop sump to look in detail at that particular cylinders before you decide how to proceed ............... any one of those and I would rather replace the motor.
Real strange to have 2 cylinders on different journals on the crank showing up with mechanically damaged upper components - makes me think we are not getting the whole story

Timing chain appears to have skipped but there are to quarter size holes in the timing cover nothing was ingested in the engine and they are the correct plugs th car was running Driven daily till it died

Unless you have the mechanical know how & feel up to it I would replace the motor at this point. Its easiest and less down time. You can rebuild original on the side while your still able to drive your car.

Agreed - the fact that this thread was even started is a sure indicator that its the best solution

It's a 92 gold maxima it has 370,000 miles on car the engine appears to be original has about 3/4 an inch of road grime all over it trans only has about 1500 miles on it ( main reason I bought it ) everything works windows, seats, sunroof, radio all of it works . And again $150
I got my money's worth
