Cracked IM solenoid?

Putting my engine back together and noticed this:

Anybody ever have this happen?

I wonder if it needs to be replaced or if it's just "cosmetic". Guess I better be safe than sorry. Anybody have an extra?

I found a good replacement from my hoard of VE parts in the attic. I almost forgot I had all that up there

Hell I couldn't even find my set up so upon reassembly. So I used an auto (which has one solenoid) and another brown one from a VG that hangs freely (not mounted to the bracket). May be another reason why my car hates me now that I think about it. Oh well to the jy tomorrow.

One is for the EGR and the other for the VE 5 speed power valve. I wouldn't think either one would give you trouble in terms of driveability if they were bad but you never know

I know you already fixed it (spare parts ftw!) but you could use a small hand held vacuum pump to see if it leaks under various conditions. It's probably just the outer casing, horray for aging/heat cycled/brittle plastics :-/
