front calipers and rotors rusting?

so as most of you know i replaced all of my front calipers, rotors, and brake pads. well its been about 2 weeks since i have replaced it and as you can see in the picture below they are rusted out..

is there anything i can spray on the rust to get it off? or do i need to un assemble everything and paint them?

Well, it's just surface rust, not really "rusted out" per se. That's what happens when the bare metal is exposed to the air. It only happens on that inner part of the rotor because your brake pads rub all the rust off the main portion of the rotor when you drive the car. Your calipers should be coated from the factory but if you have rebuilt calipers they're likely bare metal because in the rebuild process they strip the calipers bare.

Anyway, you'll really need to paint them if you want to keep that from happening. You can buy zinc/cadmium plated rotors to prevent that. Or you can tape it off and paint that section. Same for your caliper.

You'll want to get all that surface rust off first though. You don't need to disassemble it all. Just take your wheel off and have at it. Dupicolor and the like make caliper paint "kits" you can buy at parts stores and have everything you need. You can do your rotors too with the kit.

I painted the rear calipers with caliper paint as remans will get surface rust really quick. The rotor hats will also get surface rust very fast. Should of taken the extra time to get them protected from rust.

I just replaced my rear calipers & painted them along with the rotor hats yesterday. Everything with surface rust on yours is now silver (OEM look) on mine. Just go paint them. I used high temp primer & caliper paint.
