Farwell to my last Maxima...

Well 2 days ago I sold my last Maxima. I am off to live at college and no longer have the room or reason to have 2 cars, so the maxima had to go. It was a ton of fun and I learned so much from that car, I was very sad to see it go, but at the same time it was a relief.

Maxima's were my entry into the car world. I remember seeing Fast and the Furious when they first came out and getting super excited to be able to modify my car, lol. Luckily my taste matured quickly and I didn't do anything stupid to my cars.

My first Max was a 91 VG 5spd (pictured in sig) that my dad gave to me when I got my license. I modified that a bit and then got a 94 VE 5spd, put nitrous on it and used it for drag racing. After a couple seasons I had the car in the mid 13's before I became bored of going in a straight line :P. Now I have a WRX with 300awhp

After I sold the 94 a few days ago I immediately felt empty inside, like something was missing. It just felt so strange for it not to be in my driveway anymore. My keyring also feels lighter and every time I pull out my keys I remember the max and the good times we had. I still love the 3rd gen and I think I always will.

I also want to thank everyone who has helped me out over the years on the org and locally.

Cheers,
Alex

Aw man, I thought you were going to restore it.. Painting wheels ≠ restoration Did you get around what you were asking? If not i'm gonna be pissed, I would have bought it for sub $1k

I just didn't have the time I thought I was going to have this summer to restore it.

I got $1200 for it which is what I was asking for but I put in the interior and put it as back to stock as possible.

Dang. Sucks to see you go

And only $1200 for it?

IIRC that thing was in better shape than the VE I sold earlier in the summer. I got $1900 for it with 196k miles. But then again I'd fixed all the rust, had brand new struts all around, new ball joints, control arms and bushings, yada yada

Too bad you don't have a max anymore. It was nice meeting you and Sean when I sold the stuff from the parts car.

One day you might end up like me and buy a 3rd gen because you miss having one. I owned a 92 VE5 back in the mid 90s (pebble beige). I missed it and when I had a chance to buy the red one, I jumped on it.
