Are the guys that have the S-AFC controller, following some sort of tune.........
..........to get more power out of the VE? Or are you taking your cars to the dyno and squeezing some more ponies out that way? Or do you just have them for looks? Turbo max's need not reply. It's obvious why you guys have them. I wanna hear from the all motor guys.

why not just say MrGone, since I think I'm the only 3rd gen all motor guy with one
Nope, no dyno, heck Apexi doesn't even tell you half the settings to use . Just gotta figure it out on your own and go from there (I posted them in my write up thread). As for the actual tuning settings, I've never had my car on a dyno (except for emissions). Just gotta tinker around and find the best settings for your mods. I wish I had a WB O2 but dont. EGT gauge helps, but I never got around to installing the probe for mine. Wouldn't recommend doing it the way I did, it's shooting in the dark and dangerous. If I wasn't going back to stock I'd install the EGT and either hit the dyno or find a WB O2 and tweak it even more but even with 5% it made a nice increase, 10% was even stronger but I backed it off because I didn't feel like replacing engine parts (I was probably still safe-the plugs looked good but I didn't care enough to take any chances).

EDIT: So, since Mr. Gone is the only one on this site that can afford an S-AFC controller on his max, does any one know if he is following some sort of tune.........
anyway, all jokes aside, so what you're saying is that I should install one and then take it to a dyno to have someone tinker with it so i'm not shooting in the dark to get more ponies out of my car right?
And while you're at it, can i have the link to the write up you did on how to tune it, if that's what you did.

Umm correct me if I'm wrong but won't you need access to a wideband o2 to tune the AFR? I have a wideband in my car and a techtom mdm-100 so I can see what the stock o2 sensor reads vs the wideband. Point blank there is no way in hell I'd tune my car or anyone else's with the stock o2. Get the SAFC and a wideband o2 or add an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, then try to get 2000-5000rpm at 13.0-13.3 AFR with 5100-6500rpm to 12.9-13.1 AFR. That should get some decent power gains.

It won't be a problem.. In fact, I was told I could gain another 10-15 hp from the SAFC-II installed with my JWT because they run the A/F so rich on them...
Hell, it runs so rich that my car backfires every time I shift hard..
