Anyone Install an Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?

Anyone Install an Electric Oil Pressure Gauge?
Curious what the fitting is I need - is it a 1/4" or 1/8" NPT or is it some kind of metric fitting.
If I ditch the OEM idiot light by disconnecting it and snipping the wire, will the oil lamp be permanently ON.

wrong ... the guages come with 1/8" .. but u need a metric adapter to install. BEST way to hook it up is with one of those oil filter guage adapters from glowshift guages.com. The adapter we need is 5he same as an S13 240sx.

1/8 BSPT is the stock thread.
ONCE AGAIN THIS IS A SUGGESTION. ALL FACTS AND FIGURES SHOULD BE VERIFIED. AT NO POINT THIS INFORMATION SHOULD BE CONTESTED WITHOUT SOLID FACT AND FIGURES BACKED BY PHOTOGRAPHS. THE ABOVE INFORMATION WAS TAKEN FROM A FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE.

Or you could just put a little bit of extra teflon tape on the 1/8 NPT and screw it right in like I did.

inch and metric.
inch (fraction) is generally only used in the US
metric is used probably in the rest of the world.
so you're telling me metric measure in Japan is different than metric measure in Europe?
are you REALLY having this conversation with me? it's METRIC...call it BSPT, JPT, PT, whatever...it's metric.
BTW...pls show me your oil gauge set up.

i think we all agree there's two standard of measure in the world..right?

Unfortunately I can't show off my oil gauge right now. You'll get your proof in due time, just be patient

I had to get the adaptor for installing my gauge. Originally tried the teflon and threading the 1/8 port into the block and it stripped. Luckily, threads on block were salvaged, but had to get the adaptor and gently thread it in to correct the damage and insure a tight/sealed fit. The adaptor is only a few dollars and worth it to not risk damaging the block and leaking oil. IMO.

I'll go ahead and send you in the right direction. At the top of the page I'm sending you there is an adaptor for the temperature which has been mentioned earlier in this thread. If you scroll down, you will find the adaptor for the oil pressure sensor. $11 is still very reasonable to me for making sure you've got a tight fit and NOT potentially damaging the block! This is where I got my adaptor....great guy to deal with, very prompt with shipping too!

Well I said it was identical right? Seemed you were sarcastically implying I don't know what I'm talking about and that the diagram I posted was incorrect. I'm just sayin I know exactly what i'm talking about and the diagram is correct

your diagram is on point. but the stock hole is BSPT.
i don't care about your oil gauge...just the set up you have there similar to the diagram.

I have the same tee and it will have the same configuration, retaining the stock idiot light switch, all that's installed ATM is the pressure sending unit which is metric threaded unlike most NPT aftermarket units, so it's screwed right into the block. Here's the tee and stock switch waiting to go on if you still need pics.
