Driver side clunk during deceleration after 5spd swap.

well testing out the max now getting in some miles before i start driving it full time.

when i drive up the road going threw the gear everythings seems to work well.

when i decelerate in gear ( let off the gas or tap the gas to jerk the engine a little) i get a clunk in the driverside of the car.

the donor car didnt have any issue as far as as the mounts went and no clunking.

doesnt sound like a motor mount because of where the clunk is but i am not sure.

1.i'd get under the car and double check those mounts, might not have torqued everything down right.
2.make sure the sound isn't coming from the strut/spring

can you get the clunk to happen at any time OTHER than when abruptly lifting/tapping the gas? did you use a torque wrench while installing the mounts and such? any chance one of the mounts was damaged during installation?

I would check the control arms.... more often than not they are the source of any clunking sounds.

what traxtar said could be the case too. consider driving around with your hood off (if possible) to watch for excessive engine movement?
