Misfiring issues / replacing Engine Harness on VE30DE

Well there has been countless issues with my 3rd gen. I didn't want to trash the engine yet but I am close to it. It still has alot of misfiring. Me and my buddy have about 18 coil packs to cycle through out both 3rd gens and haven't seen any difference yet. A few injectors have been replaced...I think 3-4 I lost count after so many parts. Any other changes include a leaky water pump, installed the plenum spacer, and replaced an injector harness. The injector harness was crushed and torn apart during a night install. So latest development is still misfiring. What we haven't tried yet is a new grounding kit, checking the compression, reinstalling the factory exhaust setup.. We are thinking that all the connections are shot and that they just need to be replaced. So hence the title to the thread.

I found a new OEM injector harness for the front bank at Courtesyparts.com.

Don't know about the rear bank of injectors.

I've been going through the misfire/raw gas out the exhaust for a week now. I'm hoping that the leaky injector that I just put in-i.e. poor o-ring installation on my part-is the problem.

Good luck with yours.

So, why in the world didn't you check compression first? It takes about 5 minutes.

Also, what are your injector readings? Did you just randomly replace 3-4 injectors? Which cylinder do you have the misfire in, etc?

if you want a quick disconnect rear bank subharness, buy a 2nd front one, and snip a compatible female socket from a JY car and just splice the female socket onto the original rear injector wires (triple-check what wires belong where before making anything permanent) and bam, quick disconnect rear subharness.

Yup. I got in a hurry and didn't flip over the fuel rail after installation of the new injector to 2X check the lower o-ring. Had it all mangled. New o-ring and good now.

I didn't replace them at random. I replaced the coil packs first and then realized it was the injector malfunctioning because I used a tester that indicated that it wasn't spraying correctly. Each one was replaced because of that issue. My friend and I don't have a compression tester to the car with. Originally the problem was it was leaking air. However the rear harness injector harness was crushed when I was reassembling the car at night. Also there were vacuum leaks. Most of this should be resolved by now except maybe the O2 sensor. Not sure how to tell if thats bad or not. I think my friend will try a compression test this thursday. He said he was going to buy that and also a fuel pressure tester?
