Got everything worked out (tuning) now how would I get more power?
I drive an auto gxe
How would I get more power easily? What kind of air intake should I start with? The engine seems to kind of choke out on the top end, kind of irritating so I figured I need a new exhaust or air intake.
Also, I want a bulb upgrade, because they are as yellow and dim as grandma's teeth. Where should I go for that? No HIDs please just drop in replacements. I'd fancy the 9007 upgrade though

to be honest with u by looking at ur thread i would say jus get a gud tuneup and u will get pretty good out of the car...if u want a LITTLE more then jus put some CAI and some MAGNAFLOW muffler to help ur top end....u will be ok wit that....and theres ntn wrong with driving AUTOS IMO...

Ive got a 93 gxe automatic, with 217,000 miles. Ive tuned it up and maintained it well. Only thing Ive done is gotten a cone air filter and advanced the timeing. Its got enough power for me. I can still smoke cars that are much newer than mine. It drives like its only got 117,000 miles though. These are really good cars, compared to the chevy beretta I used to own.

You shouldnt even be trying to "smoke" newer cars in a bog stock 15-20 year old car of any kind with 200'000+ MILES on it.
'Easy Power' won't go far. This has been covered before.
First thing I did when I got my Max was a full service.
Changed all fluids and filters, new sparks, reset the ECU, reset the timing, and ran out the tank of regular and filled up with premium. World if difference right there.
Want ****loads of power? Engine swap, boost, or both.
Unfortunately, good results arent cheap
I think the best thing you can do is add an aftermarket y-pipe. You will free up power and get better mpg.
Honestly, there are only a handful of bolt on things you can do (y-pipe, UDP, exhaust, NWP spacer), then you need to really start moving up the ladder (nitrous, turbo).
Upgrading suspension is one of my favorite mods. Even if you car isn't faster in a straight line, it can handle corners a lot better.
I did the 9007 headlight conversion and I am very happy with the light output.

Yeah, the y-pipe does help, but IIRC I really felt the most out of the butt dyno with the cold air intake.
Oh, and colinod, the best thing you can do is sell your car for a '92-94 SE 5 speed. You GXE guys really, really don't know what you're missing out on.

Desperately looking for a 5 speed axle carrier bracket. Either VG or VE will work. PM me if you have one!
Good working door lock timers $20 shipped. PM me if interested
Apparently y-pipe's add 17 whp, there's a few things you can do to unlock either VGs or VEs to their natural power which Nissan have restricted alot in the assembly with almost all their production. Probably good for 250hp naturally aspirated.
+1 for what CliffClavin said, my priority is steering, brakes, suspension and then power. Driver should always be in complete control, regardless of how much power the car throws.
Im a vg owner that used to own a ve, and drove a vq30-5spd from time to time.
and yea i know what i'm missing out on.
i went and bought the blue bulbs for 9007 mod.
it comes out bright...close to h.i.d.
not exactly like it, but close.
and for the power it makes it can give some of these newer cars a run for there money.
and yea unlike the beretta (which i used to own one too), these cars are very reliable...
