i have a sound system and fogs....the underdrive pulley shouldnt effect your electrical system..... basically all it is is a lighter smaller crankshaft pulley that reduces friction and drag i guess....smaller belts = more hp..? o yea and i heard the impact gun is very useful getting on and off the crankshaft pulley...

if you started off with no mods. Combining pulley, intake and exhaust you notice some gains the engine revs up a bit quicker on acceleration. And yes it slows down the all of the accesories which in turns robs the engine of less power. Im running a 500watt system, center tv, ac/dc converter, a/c, power sterring, windows, sunroof etc. never had any major issues with power loss.
btw: when i first installed mine I liked it but had this speaky belt problem. I read in the sr20 forms that i had to tighten the belt a bit more, i was'nt too thrilled about that so i did and a week later front oil pump seal started leaking then pouring oil. i changed but now it a toss up between quietness or maintance just my to cents

well i read in a write up on how exactly to swap the underdrive pulley that it is a good idea to swap out your old main seal for a new one because it is right there when you take the pulley's and belts off.
#13
On the VE30DE yes, it's right there, on a vg, nope, it's not right there..You have to remove the timing belt and timing gear off of the crankshaft to access the front main seal..Also, be prepared for the timing gear to be frozen/stuck on the crankshaft.
#14
Check for a used one or search for some performance outlet that may still have one (I doubt it) but yes they are no longer made as stated above! Call ASP Racing @ 18779288678 or email sales@aspracing.com! I do have an extra OEM sized Alloy pulley for the VG designed for the sound guys!
#16
if you don't know when your timing belt was changed you might be due to change it anyhow, at which point you have a clear shot at the front main. besides i'm sure a front main oil leak isn't good for your timing belt...

My buddy tells me that pacesetter performance had a set of underdrive pulleys listed in their catalog at the time when he bought his headers. If his memory is correct they were priced around $115, I can't verify this though because we lost the catalog and pacesetter charges for them, but it could be worthwhile for anyone really interested.

If you do not have air tools, and your car is an automatic transmission model like mine, you do need to lock the flywheel in place while the bolt is being loosened. On the '99 Maxima there is a small access port just to the driver's side of the huge steel support bar which runs down the middle of the engine underneath the car. The access port has a cover plate which is held in place with two small easily removed bolts. Removing the small bolts will expose the flywheel. We used a piece of hardened steel (a chisel bit) to stick in between the flywheel and the housing cover being very careful not to damage the flywheel teeth. If your car does not have the access port, it will be necessary to remove the starter motor to gain access to the flywheel. If you have the shop manual for the car, the access port is documented in the section on removing the timing chain, and in the section on removing the oil pan. Nissan calls it simply a "rear cover plate".

just wonderin but is any of this true?

Can you not follow your own conversation of the questions you previously put forth?
Perhaps you should try reading posts #19 through 21 to once again give you the answer that you asked for in the first place.

First of all, I was the person who provided you the part #'s in the first place. Secondly, if you actually follow your own conversation from the questions you asked, you would understand what the part #'s were for; hence the reasoning for the emoticons.

Of course i follow my own conversations in the thread i made what kind of stupid question is that???, And im sorry you told me the part numbers and i was simply asking what those part numbers were... i typed them into the gates website and they came up nothing....I know i need them for swapping out the pulley i just wanted to know what those parts were...........dont i feel cool
2.) I provided the part #'s to the belts you need.
3.) You once again asked what the part #'s were for...
Clearly you have proven you cannot follow your own conversation of what you asked for, as you didnt even notice that I was the one who provided the #'s in the first place.
Now since you are like talking to a wall, you can do the research yourself. Google is your friend.

Honestly WTF are you talking about??! you said ask your friend for the lsit of gates p/n's..... at the time i didnt knwo what you meant by gates p/n's so i asked what gates p/n's meant not what the p/n(parts numbers) were... im not stupid your just showing your ignorance for not knowing what i was asking for int he first place.... i said in the post right above the useless post you made sayign that the pulley was coming with fresh belts that fit correctly already so there for i wouldnt need new belts..... Thanks for your usless info and whoring up my thread....

Point is, you asked for the parts #'s to the gates belts, and I provided them for you. You then followed that up by asking what the part #'s were for, right after you asked for them.
It isnt my fault you are too obtuse to follow your own conversation.

No, cmax said this, not me. Once again, you cant seem to follow...
You asked what they meant? LOL, that makes a lot sense...
Here is what you really asked...
Clearly I tried to help, but you just couldn't follow....
