Is there any way to tell what the wheels look like when they spin? I want to get wheels that have that illusion of going backwards if u know what I mean!

nope, unless somebody snaps a vid with them in motion.
it is nearly impossible (at least with most of the org's members equipment/software/whatever else it would take) to take a 2d image and apply the proper light reflections to get the flat image to show you what you want.

not sure why you want this, but I know what you mean.

all wheels will do that at certain speeds, which differs for each wheel. it's an optical illusion type of thing since your brain processes stuff in pulses. almost like frames in a movie. at certain speeds, they'll appear to be going forward, others backwards.

In natural light (sun - with constant radiation), with the naked eye, you will never see that phenomena of the wheel appearing to start turning at a different speed even though the rotational speed stays constant.

The effect that you are looking for can only be seen when:

a) the wheel is illuminated with a non-natural light source with non-constant radiation (ie something like running a globe off an ac power source creating 50/60Hz light "bursts") and you view the rotating wheel with the naked eye................ or alternatively

b) The wheel is illuminated by natural light and you watch the wheel via a camcorder produced picture with a fixed shutter speed (any shutter speed)

In both cases its the "discreet" images of the turning wheel reaching your eye that "confuses" the senses into thinking that the wheel may be turning faster/slower .................. and the magnitude of the faster/slower effect is directly related to the ratio of the speed of wheel rotating and the number of discreet "pictures" reaching the eye.
