Burhan I think you're talking about the heater control valve? I'm not real familiar with 3rd gens but most cars I've seen are just vacuum controlled, and you can just apply vacuum to it and see if it moves freely. Or move the rod manually and see if cures your problem. Is it not heating? Or what?

Probably available at a parts store, they're ussually pretty cheap to buy.
I would not recommend trying to move it manually, as you could damage the diaphragm(sp?). either try the vacuum method, or get in the car, start it up, with the temp setting on cold, make sure the blower is on. now make a mental note of where the plunger is. turn it to hot. has the plunger moved? it wont be much, maybe 1/2 inch (a cm or so), but the part is small, so you should see a difference.
no change? check the vacuum lines. longer one should have a little disk like thing near the valve, on the line. the other end should attach to the intake manifold, on the passenger side, on the back. make sure the lines arent cracked.
These little vacuum lines are renowned to crack or disconnect themselves from the water **** (which is what Nissan calls it). I check these lines every time I pop the hood.
